I do this kind of thing in my head for fun when I'm bored.
Name: The White Shadow, Shiroikage
Appearance: A katana-styled blade with an ivory handle. Spirit manifests as an old man with white hair and beard who sits with crossed legs.
Shikai release: The blade turns white and appears frosted over. Drops of water condense on the blade and fall beneath it as a constant shower of snow and water. (Command: Botsuraku)
Bankai release: The blade of the sword disappears into the sky, replacing itself with a crystal clear, nearly invisible blade of ice. A blizzard begins to blow in the area that consists of heavy wind and vision-obscuring snow-flurries.
Abilities: The Shikai form has two distinctive attacks. One is a distanced attack in which the condensation on the blade is frozen into drops of ice as sharp as the blade itself, which fly from the blade when it is swung vertically. When swung horizontally the blade creates a horizontal plane of ice that extends out from the blade, striking numerous targets.
The Bankai form has only a single attack mode. Mixed in with the snow and wind it causes are many small pieces of razor-sharp ice that blend with the snowflakes, making it very hard to dodge. It is not as effective as Byakuya's Senbonzakura, but much the same in principle. As a defensive gesture, with vision limited by the blowing wind and snow, the storm can also create shapes with the snow and ice that appear to move, distracting and misleading those caught within it.
The elemental zanpakto are more fun to work with.

The Bleach manga is truly impressive. I read it fan-translated though.

possibly.
I'm happy with any form of sword as long as it's slashy not stabby. I'm no good with stabby weapons like daggers, they tend to be too short. that's why I suck at fencing.

Ieuan: Not necessarily inexpertly translated. Some people think their translations are too exact and literal, and some of the results sound a little silly as a result, but it's a rarity. Overall I give the scanslations at the site I use (Most of the issues are out of a translation group called Manga Rain,) a pretty high score. A typo or grammar mistake here and there, but still readable and easily understandable.
There are really two extremes as to fan translations. One group is pleased with the fact that, because the Japanese issues are being translated and posted, they get to read them before people who just wait for that issue to hit stateside with an official translation. They prefer the fan translations because the translations are much more literal and stick much more tightly to the Japanese version. The other group thinks that the official translation is better to wait for because it's usually more polished, and being on paper instead of digital files, the picture quality is much better and the pictures are easier to enjoy. They also like the official translations because they're often smoother and easier to comprehend because they're localized - A Japanese joke might be replaced with an English joke that has a similar meaning, for example.
