For the sake of consistancy I'ld like to lay down a few guidelines for taking pictures. The idea is that if I saw the picture, I would immediately be able to tell what the main subject is. For example, If you saw these pictures:
could you tell me whether the weapons, armor, or shields were the focus?
Now look at these:
www.ultimateaq.com/images/weapons/Dueling Dragons Staff.PNG[/img] www.ultimateaq.com/images/weapons/Flame Hatchet.PNG[/img] www.ultimateaq.com/images/weapons/Grass Blade.PNG[/img]
Obviously the weapons are the focus. If we keep all of our pictures uniform, with the same backdrop and using the same equipment scheme, it will be immediately obvious what the picture is about.
Equipment
A good summary of these rules is:Take a picture of what you want to take a picture of, and nothing else.
RULE #1: If you can, save ALL pics as .PNG files. You can do this in Microsoft Paint or any decent graphic editing program. IMHO, this format gives the best quality for the filesize.*EDIT* If your version of Microsoft Paint doesn't have the option to save as .PNG, save the files as .BMP and I'll convert them later.
RULE #2: Take pics while fighting the Seed Spitter. Anyone can fight the Seed Spitter, just talk to Twilly (the red Moglin in Battleon) and ask if he's heard any rumors.
RULE #3: If you ARE NOT taking a pic of a shield, DO NOT wear a shield.
RULE #4: If you ARE NOT taking a pic of a weapon, equip the SMALLEST, least obtrusive weapon possible. We want to be able to see as much of the shield or armor as possible. The best thing for this is one of the elemental fists. These don't even look like you have a weapon equipped, there's one for every element, and they're only 1500g.
RULE #5: If you ARE NOT taking a pic of an armor, wear Classic Guardian Armor (if you're a guardian) or your Steel Plate (if you're not a guardian)..
RULE #6: (OPTIONAL) Take pics at 800X600 game window resolution. I know some people may be running on dialup, so this resolution is just unbarable for you guys, so I won't make this a requirement. I can always resize the images, but 800X600 makes for perfectly sized pics
Monster Screenshots
RULE #1: The first screenshot should be of the monster's "stat card." Be sure that you haven't damaged the monster and the monster hasn't used any MP, because the HP and MP bars are the only way to know the monster's HP/MP stats. It should look something like this:
www.ultimateaq.com/images/other/fire seed spitter info.JPG[/img]
RULE #2: The second shot should be a "portrait" of the monster in its resting position. If the action menu is in the way, use a potion and then take the screenshot while the menu is gone. Then crop the shot down so it shows just the monster and it's HP/MP bars. It should look like this:

Pets & Guests

RULE #1: Take pics while fighting the Seed Spitter.
RULE #2: DO NOT have a shield equipped.
RULE #3: Equip the SMALLEST, least obtrusive weapon possible.
RULE #4: Wear your Guardian Armor or Steel Plate.
RULE #5: DO NOT crop out your character. Your character gives something to compare the pet or guest to for size.

RULE #1: Take pics while fighting the Seed Spitter.
RULE #2: DO NOT have a shield equipped.
RULE #3: Equip the SMALLEST, least obtrusive weapon possible.
RULE #4: Wear your Guardian Armor or Steel Plate.
RULE #5: Crop the image down to the size of the game screen. Send in the whole screen and I'll crop it down/resize it as necessary.
Misc Items
RULE #1: Take all pics in the 1000x750 game size screen.
RULE #2: Crop out Everything except the rectangle/picture in the rectangle.
After you have your shots and info together, email them to pics@ultimateaq.com!
I've tried to make this all as clear as possible. If you have any questions PLEASE ask and I'll clarify things:)
