I'm keeping my signs. the Water Sign used at full MP gives me over 1000 along with a boost to my Lightning Rod.

Some people claim that Water Sign restores 8 HP not only on every hit they make, but also every hit of their pet and guest. That'd be 48 HP a turn for me. 56 if Nerfkitten attacks. 48 HP a round is regen that shouldn't be laughed at. And Water Sign does actually serve a use for me, since it bumps my MP up enough to allow me to cast Cure Wounds twice, if the need arises. The other Signs are pretty darn useful as well. +30 to any stat you want with minor secondary effects? Like scgr said, the Signs are Uber Misc. items, they're a reward in their own right. That means my Keeshish-Kin....? 8x8=64 HP per turn.

If it restores that unlike AQ said, it is a bug, so you better be careful.
I personally didn't notice any HP regain.

Faye: I got some clarification. Their 'pet' was one of those damned Clones, and we all know that the Clones don't play by the same rules.
xelemental: What are they gonna do, ban me for equipping Water Sign while Krenos and Nerfkitten are out? They'd have to ban everyone who purchased the Water Sign. Regardless, it doesn't work like that anyway.
