Drago, would you get the lvl 88 spine then? I'm in the same boat as you and I'm thinking about getting that one. I wouldn't mind another energy weapon.

I wouldn't, my SkyScorcher is too good with my IT+RP.
Other people with weaker energy weapons might want to go for it though.

I tossed my sky scorcher ages ago,but then ago it wasn't the strongest one and we're talking about me,I like new shiny things. All I can say is that although the new ice spines doesn't do any huge uber damage, its special makes up for it in my mind.Thats the reason I have a few other weaker weapons I haven't even used, because of they're "side effects",maybe I can get rid of them now.I just have trouble keeping up with what is the new best and 2nd best and also new niche weapons, like the spines.See why I want some sort of storage add on to houses?I mean I would sleep on the couch by the fire place if they'd let me fill my room with weapons, items, armors and shields, that would be a rocking room.

Frozen Time Spine, at 9-29 and 11% BTH, is just short of uber. It's in a wierd gray area.
And SkyScorcher is very strong. It's 5-33 at 15% BTH. It is more powerful than any other Melee or Ranged energy weapon available, not counting Mjollnir because it's beyond uber and not counting Salvation Bow because it's a 100% special Ranged.

You said you sold ScyScorcher ages ago though because it wasn't the strongest.
Until Mjollnir came it was.
And Mjollnir hasn't been around for ages.

Maybe fry had low level skyscorcher?
Besides, I need to check on that ~........strongest ranged, hmmm..... Frozen Time spine loses out to NMM(uber), Soul Leech(self-destructer), and Grim Vestige(dual), but not by a large margin.I'd prefer it over any other Ice weapons as a warrior on itself, unless I'm lacking dark one....(shadowspear).Special chance is 18 with 750/750/0 damage.Sure, low BTH, but still, it can freeze. And the Freeze-burn isn't that strong for warrior anyway.

NMM requires the full set to freeze; FTS is standalone. Soul Leech is incredibly hard to get and as you pointed out, quite capable of killing the user long before the monster.
And Grim Vestige was crap. I had one and sold it.
And warriors don't want freeze for freeze-burn, they want it to conserve HP, which is incredibly important.

When?(in what level). (keep in mind these calculations assume full power for GV).
Well, you can conserve HP by killing opponent quicklier.Anyway, 25 BTH seems a bit low to me.

25 b2h low?
I remember the days when we would KILL SOMEONE AND TEAR OFF THEIR SKIN when we had something with 10 b2h.

THE SPECIAL HAS 25 BTH per hit without stat or armor bonuses!

And how many specials get ANY b2h from stats? Not many. Armor, dunno, haven't checked out those things but anyway.
I recall something about the game giving 10 b2h to all specials, but whether that means the actual weapon b2h is 15, or if it is 35 due to the boost, or if it has been removed, I don't know. So yeah.
I think. My problems are A) I'm old B) I don't really care about the numbers. If you do, you either have too much time in your hands, or are a geek.
Then again, C) being level 130 and able to RIP AND TEAR anything that the staff releases might explain why I don't care for the numbers that much.

When?(in what level). (keep in mind these calculations assume full power for GV). Well, you can conserve HP by killing opponent quicklier.Anyway, 25 BTH seems a bit low to me. No level 130 player in their right mind has Grim Vestige. Mostly because it's dual-element special looks better on paper than it does in practice. You're also purposefully ignoring the point: Frozen Time Spines gives Warriors their first Freeze/Paralyze weapon that's actually viable, with a high damage output and reasonable BTH as well as a special with a final damage output high enough that it shouldn't seriously impact their armor damage modifiers. There's a reason no-special melee weapons like the Salvation Blades always show so high in Average Damage calculations, and that is they have no special to get in the way of the pure damage modifiers of the armor being used. I'd rather have the level 95 Water Salvation Blade than any number of Tsunami Edges, Graces or Poises because by the time I get Ironthorn and Reign Plate equipped, Specials becomes a liability. So Specials come in two flavors: The kind I hate to see, and the kind I don't mind seeing. FTS falls into the latter range. Not only is it high enough damage that my DPT doesn't drop into the gutter if it goes off, but the fact that it has a good shot at freezing/paralyzing the monster means that for a turn at least, my lack of defense because of Ironthorn isn't going to get my arse handed to me. When you have Ironthorn equipped, a single turn of not being attacked is the difference between winning and losing.

The thing is that all three hits must connect, If I got it right. The monsters I meet have about 50 adjusted defense, the monsters at higher level would have even higher. For now, the 2 hit connection is nice, but the charm is really only when you hand out triple kick.
iceberg: it was removed. And I do care, If I can hit the opponent only about half of the time. Of course, that ability really could help or unhelp there.
EDIT: And people, I don't disagree on it's well-being, it is practically the best ice weapon out there for warriors(altough GV at level 130 deals more, it special cuts it a bit down, albeit there aren't many enemies who have defense to one or the other. IMO the freeze-paralyze chance justifies it.

I'm still contemplating getting though. I want to save up for Au Axe and Shield and I really don't have the time right now to devote to farming. I can barely get on once a week.
