This was actually for school, so I had to do it. If I happen to get lots of positive feedback, I might make another. It's just a tall tale about some random kid and stuff, hence the name. Yes i know I rushed it, but it was due the next day, and i hd less than an hour till I had to sleep
The Crazy Adventure of Cool Random Things
It had been a long flight from England, and they were only half way back to Wisconsin. Nathan sighs and goes back to reading his book. He was almost finished, in fact, he only had about fifty pages to go. ‘Figures,’ he thought ‘I had brough a bunch of books that I never would have finished before in a week, and now I’m almost done with all these.’ He brings himself up out of his slouching position of the seat.
All of the sudden, he heard a voice over the loudspeaker saying, “Folks, we have a lsight problem, but don’t worry, it’ll be fixed in no time.” Nathan looks out the window to see them angled slightly downwards, towards the clouds below them. “I don’t think we should be going downwards like that,” he says to himself, though he thought that it just had to do with the problem the pilot had told them about.
He puts his bookmark into his book and dropped it onto the floor, and snuggled back to sleep the rest of the way home, even though he was tired.
That was the last thing he remembered before the crash, and the next time he opened his eyes, he felt a sharp pain in his leg, it seems he had broken it. “well, I better try and find a the other survivors, if there are any…” he says, almost in an attempt to comfort himself.
After a few hours, he had salvaged enough food for a few days, a dozen bottles of water, and, a paintball gun, along with quite a bit of shots for it. “I wonder what anyone’d be doing with this,” he says, and even though he didn’t know it, he was being watched by a black figure.
Nathan felt a sharp pain right in the back of his neck, and he slumped over unconscious. The figure came out of the trees to reveal the fact that it was practically an giant black cat, except it walked like a human and held a blowgun in it’s hands, not that it made a difference to Nathan, though. The cat picked Nathan up, and hoisted him over his shoulder, only to disappear into the forest, once again.
After a couple hours, Nathan wakes up, only look see a group of the cat-like figures standing around him. He shouts, surprised, and would have brought his hand up, out of reflexes, but found that they were bound against the rock slab he was laying on. “What do you want?” he asks timidly.
The group seems surprised by the fact he spoke. One of them, obviously the oldest, says “We want peace, you filthy Naardin! You were salvaging from the wreckage on our side of the island, and you know it! You ‘forget’ that you cannot cross onto the Garr’s side of this island!”
Nathan asks “Naardin, who’re they?” He’s still frightened, but curious, now, too. The ‘Garrs’ seem a bit confused at this, but they answer, “The Garrs are furless beings like yerself, of course!”
Nathan says “No, I’m a human, and I want to get off this island, please help me!”
The eldest one, responds, “Human, I think I’ve heard of that before… Ah, yes, now I remember, they look just like Garrs, but are harmless. The only way off the island is the volcano.” Nathan seems shocked at this, but the Naardin calms him, “No, the volcano is really just a way to get off this island, I would know, I have tried it once, I used a rope to lower myself down, and I felt no heat, and I wnt through and saw what I thought was Garrs, but they were humans, if you want, I’ll take you there.”
And he did just that, and guess where he ended up. England, land of truffles! Now he had to fly all the way back, and luckily no one else he knew was on that plane, so he got a hearty welcome back home.
