DS is better since it has Metroid Prime Hunters, New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, WarioWare Touched!, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, and so on. Also, it can play GameBoy Advance games so it can utilize two game cartriges in one system.
On the other hand, PSP has games that aren't my favorite but I don't know which. The DVD player isn't that cool because you can just watch DVDs at home.

Ok, I've got a PSP and think it is a great accomplishment for technology! The graphics are amazing! Most games are in the good to great category! (Proof toward bottom of post) I have played the DS and found it different...but realized it's basically just a slightly suped-up...dare I say? GBA...I said! What are ya gunna do about it!? Nah I'm messin'... But the PSP is better in every way except innovativity. (?) The DS has a touch screen...that's it...Dual Screens...not a positive...not even a real reason for 2 yet... And the PSP has picture, music, video. gaming, and movie capabilitys...Oh and they both have online of course... And...the biggest thing...the games... Look for yourself...look through all of the game ratings (All of them!!!) and tell me what has more decent games: Start at ten and work your way down: PSP--- DSFeel free to discuss with each other! so basicly ur saying PSP is better correct me if im wrong.but i love PSP!!!

The PSP wins because of the internet browser. I know that the DS now has Opera, but it doesn't have flash and it can't save things (I don't think..) I have both. However, when equiping the DS with the DS X-Treme cartridge for £70, it becomes almost as functional as the PSP. So, the games. The majority of the DS games arn't gamer's games. Most, are silly gimicks like brain training, and there are only about.. what, 5 3d games? The PSP's games have a better range with games from every style (ever seen a fighter for the DS? How about a decent RPG aside from Lost magic?) and the games are just better in every way. Of course, all that is due to change when Poke'mon Pearl and Diamond come out =P

I have a DS and my friend has a PSP yet I would say get a DS. Reasons: I have over 60 games for the Ps2 and don't feel like buying them again to start all the way at the beginning. The DS has two screens which challenges you and gives you multitasking skills that could help you later in life(yes I said it video games will help you in life). The PSP has too many extras and would cost near $50-$100 to completely customize to what you like. Not to mention if you run out of memory you have to buy a memory stick which are $15. The DS has more games coming out that have been coming out. For the DS exclusively They are making a Pokemon Pearl and Diamond(little bro loves Pokemon). So there are my reasons. DS over PSP but I would like both
