Ok. I have a problem and I need to learn how to do this... I need to get a file from my laptop to my desktop while the laptop is in Linux... someone suggested using FTP or SFTP to do it but I don't know the proper way to use that... I have a thumbdrive, but linux isn't picking it up for some reason... I checked the root/mnt and there is no removable sda or anything that is my usb stick... Helpage if you can would be nice.
There are ftp options on this website... any help at all would be nice.

E-mail it to yourself, pick it up later.

It is all done in command line... there is no visual. I'm booting up in linux command line... I need to send a file.. I just don't know the exact way to do it... I can't email because for that I would need to be in an internet browser. I can't upload it either... Because for that I would have to have GUI or some visual interface... It is all in command line.
