godzilla is a mutated iguana the eight legged feaks were made when spiders were mutated when a toxic wast truck crashed into a lake dragons are supposed to be komodo, not flying fire breathers. the kraken is a giant octopus, hugely massive in fact. king kong is the same case as the kraken barbera streisand was killed by robert smith in an amazing clash of the titans.

Mutations are a part of evolution. It's just whether or not the mutation is a valuable one, which was probably the case with humans looking at where we got to in the end.

no, evolving is the basis of evolution, mutating is the changes to the base pair sequence of the genetic material of an organism. Mutations can be caused by copying errors in the genetic material during cell division.

Ieuan, he means that mutation is a driving force of evolution. Mutation changes a creature. If the change is beneficial, then it gets passed on to its offspring, who pass it on to their offspring, and so on and so forth. This offers evolution a leg-up and speeds up the process in times of stress for a species, which is when mutations become most common; This is nature responding to the stress by trying to quick-fix it, so to speak. Beneficial mutations become the norm for the species, useless mutations are left behind. It's a valid evolutionary process.

Well, that is true, but mutation doesnt exactly occur naturally in these monsters.

King Kong didn't evolve/mutate "naturally"? Also, kraken, while a mythological beast, might actually be based on the giant squid that are said to live in the depths of the ocean.
Also, movie monsters. There's nothing natural about them really. Then again, Cloverfield monstar is one of those as well, so the point I made is moot and null. GG ME LAWL

frst of all, king kong is an exeption, but he is unique and in the style of schoolyard bullying he's a freak. the kraken is much muchh larger then a giant squid. it should also be noted that a collosal squid is bigger then a giant squid. plus kraken could also be a giant crab or whale as called by some legends.
and we dont no anything about the cloverfield monster. but for some reason people think its a lion.

*starts singing* BARBURA!BARABURA! A HATEABLE PERSON! BARBURA! Man that episode was awesome. Anyways, in respond of people thinking it would be a lion: It tore the head off the statue of Liberty didn't it? So it's probably something that can stand on it's hindlegs (or has arms out of it's back maybe?). It couldn't be swung away by it's tail (if it has one) because there were definite claw-like prints on LL. And it would be kinda hard pulling it's head off with it's teeth. >_> So far my comment on this.

lions dont make that sound, and lions dont naturally stand on hind legs. people think its a lion because they here people saying 'its a lion!'. no they say 'its alive!'. It does have claw marks on it but by the wideness of the gashes i expect it was gouged rather then cut. it use more force to pull it of.. edit: huh... to me it looks as though it landed and caught the statue upon impact, throwing it into the city (not deliberatly that would just be stupid) travelled through the water and somehow blew somthing up.
