I did DV+ Fire Wave and the monsters hp went from about 1400 to around 900 on a 180% resistance. I also tried frostbite and fire wave. That does awesome dmg too.

And this is the kind of thing I was talking about. There's NO LOVE for Melee builds in the AQ staff.
Paladin? Mana-intensive, which means high Int which means Magic build. Necromancer? Mana intensive, which means high Int which means Magic build. Mage/Wizard? Magic. Dracomancer? Magic. Dragonslayer? Only useful in a very small handful of situations. Rogue? Ranged and it blows. Ninja? Not that useful anymore. Vampire Slayer? Magic AND it blows.
Fighter/Knight, AKA The Only Attempted Melee Character Classes Attempted To Date? Generally considered among the most useless in the game.
And you just watch them. They'll find a way to make Beastmaster a Magic class too.
It's starting to !@#$ me off honestly.

Man Fire Wave is frkn wicked. Though after trying it without DM it was pretty bad. So unless you use it with DM it's not gonna do you much good, but very good still. I got a Steppe Mastodon from like 1000 something down to around 400 something.
Drago, I agree with you comepletely. Melee based characters and builds are practically isolated and ignored.

No offense intended Drago, but we heard you the first time, and the second time, and the third time. If you have enough time to tell us this again and again, then you have time to go sift through the noobs on the AQ forum and try to get a response from the staff.

All you do is attract people who bury any point you try to make under "THEN QUIT YOU LOSER!" and "LOLZ THEY DONT CARE" and "YUR TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU SAID BUT IM NOT GOING TO BOTHER EXPLAINING WHY". It is not worth the time, trouble, or stress. 3: The staff obviously WANTS it this way or the game wouldn't be so skewed towards magic users already.

I completely agree, Drago. This is pretty much what the staff has been thinking lately...
"Alright you guys, after Frostval part 2, we're going to release an actually decent Melee Light Weapon to make Warriors a little less suckish in comparison to Mages. Then during Frostval part 3, we're going to give Mages a pwnzorific Wizard Robe to totally annihilate any chance of Warriors being in the Mage's league!!!"
Warriors aren't getting crap anymore, which sucks. I want to be a Warrior, but it's just not contending with Mages right now in terms of power.
And DM + FW = o.O ZOMG TEH AWESOM3 PWNZOMANCER ROBE LOLOLOL!!! o.O[/rant]

The problem is that the AQ staff are approaching this from the viewpoint of regular RPGs, where Mages are generally peple carrying Instant Nuke Buttons with them and can one-hit kill things.
But AQ isn't balanced that way! In those games, mages all have low defense and HP so that yes, they can hit a button and things drop dead, but if anything even breathes on the mage in the process, you've got a dead mage.
But in this game Mages can have the same HP and defenses as the hardest warrior tank build. That severely unbalances things, because then there's zero reason to play a Warrior. Mages in AQ are just warriors with Int instead of Str and have the same stats, but Mages in AQ get to equip weapons that do 100-130 damage (Spells) instead of 10-30 like Warriors. So why would anyone in their right minds want to be warriors when everyone is the same couple of builds, but melee gets vastly inferior equipment?
This leads to the majority of users being spellcasters, which just reinforces the percieved need for more better Mage stuff versus Warrior and Rogue stuff.

What rogue stuff are we talking about. Last I checked, all the ranged weapons did their specials every single turn.
I realize this and now I'm having my own issus.
I'm tring not to let myself become one of those noobs on the AQ forum, not to UM or DM+Uber spell every fight. I'm currently a hybrid and i'm trying to stay a hybrid but the AQ staff isn't making it easy.
Anyway, who here wants to bet the if Drago switches to a mage build, that mages will instantly be nerfed to the center of the earth? That would be just his luck.
