DM doesn't give your stat bonuses AND wastes a turn. So yeah, what you gain in defenses you lose in damage. When you use DM you save MP and do more dmg than using your uberspell twice so the waste of a turn really isn't a waste.

DM uses a turn in which nothing happens, yes, but on the next turn your spell gains a 2.5 multiplier, meaning that after two turns your average damage output increases versus casting the spell twice over the same two turns. So it's not a waste of a turn, xelemental, and is pretty darn imba once you bring Uberspells into thing.

and it improves mana efficiency, too. if you put, say, Lightning Rod into the equation (equip it the turn after DM) then you basically start breaking different bits of reality every time you cast spells.

If you're casting spells and not using Lightning Rod, you're doing it wrong.

DM and LR doesn't stack.DM and Poelala also doesn't stack.DM is a set bonus that only affects normal damage, stat damage is left unaffected. That means with 200 INT many uberspells, even without LR, with double cast may outdamage DM.And I'm talking about bringing the uberspells into equation, not normal spells And warriors don't need to spend a turn casting DM, they just equip Ironthorn.Mages do, if they wanna get that multiflier(which they really shouldn't unless batteling without heals or aganist something like Sine Qua Non.).
In fact, that you lose your beloved choice of defensive armor, and don't get LR means that DM being only good as mana-effectizer is more of a rule than errand.
By the way, I think I can still find the guide for it, too. Oh, and how titles can be deceving.....D

Whenever it deals more damage in most cases, and gives you good armor? Seriously, I don't think you have to shift from pure spellcasting unless when dealing with something along the lines of Void monsters, and if you do that, then you can have your death pretty much guarnteed.
So, in other words, Nemu(or should I say Faye?), you use DM all the time?

Eh, that's a bit suprising.....How much more damage you deal then?

Although it is lower in power compared to double cast due to my INT, it is mana efficient. It's best for maximizing the power you can do in a single hit, which is useful on CurZards.
