well.. its not that bad... and maybe its only base dmg thats doubbled? idk.. oh btw. about reign/heir ehm.. is it like, the first hit is the strongest and then the second and the third, and then the forth? because it really seems like that on my heir.. im like having.. 73 , 34 , 26 , 24 thats the most common one for me :S i know it was not so smart to get a uber jr. but.. i really wanted to and on the UAQ page it says it gives more to base and random.. but it seems like its only for the first hit and my str dosent help much at the last hit. im supposed to hit 18.75 with only str. mega drag blade has 5-25 (23.75 - 43.75) AND im using Mega drag blade and Ultimus shield against a drakel. MDB gives 50% base and 25% random. shield gives 50% and 25% random. (100% base and 50% random.) which means. it should hurt 47,5 to 65,625 dmg!!!! And THEN we have that freaking thing called heir plate that is supposed to give 210% base and 130% random!!!!! WHICH MEANS! im supposed to hit: 47,5 - 65.625!!!!! (but really it told me. 99,75(base) - 85,3125(random) but that only looked strange..) Edit: i figured out i had been calculating a little bit wrong here well well, but im still not supposed to hit 17 on a drakel, with MDB and ultimus, 150 str and heir plate? i don't quite get it..

Off-Topic: I just realized this topic has existed for one day and now it's got 17 repies. XD
Uhh... wow. I don't meet the required level so I don't really know what it is, but I assume it's a case of major pessimism of Drago's part again, no offense.
But I must say, the evidence is quite staggering.

You mean about Berserker? I already said I can't make any observations on it yet since the class is a right wench to level up in.
If you mean IronThorn, yes, it is that bad and not worth 300k. 200k maybe, but not 300k.

No. Anything coded as a spell is unaffected by IronThorn and the Undead abilities of Necro are coded as spells.
scgr: My problem is that they made an effort to balance the IronThorn and have never made any real effort to balance things for mages.

As a hybrid I Think berserker IS godly. It's like the wizard class of warriors.

Beserker is best used when you have low life.
Ironthorn is pretty good i think. It doubles Ranged and Melee damages and only add 50% to magic. I don't know if spells are affected but it seems good. The only drawback is no defenses. Has any1 tried the hammer?

It's supposed to SUBTRACT from the damage of Magic weapons, but make them more accurate, whereas it makes melee attacks less accurate, but doubles damage. But again, the numbers do not seem to be backing up the doubling of damage and many people are complaining about that.

It changed. The shield is now 2x for Rnaged and Melee, 1.5x for Magic. No resistances and defenses, and looks awesome. I think this will be fair.

I'm the only warrior build on this board and I already said I'm not gonna stop complaining about imba because of a new piece of equipment. And let's face it... The IronThorn isn't even that good. I don't care what the staff says, it does not double the damage of every hit. In fact the only hit I've seen any consistent doubled damage on is the first hit off Reign Plate. And even THAT isn't really being doubled, it's more like it's having the damage increased a little. I consistently got 60-100 damage off the first hit of Reign Plate on most attacks before IronThorn, after it I'm just getting 100-140. Either its bugged or my damage output is not being doubled consistently. I totally agree that its either bugged or misscoded,or at the very least maybe the description is a bit off.I've used the IronThorn almost constantly since I bought it on the first day and although it has bumped the level of damage on the first hit numerous times,it seems atleast to my observations that every sequential hit isn't doubled or is only doubled some of the time.In fact as almost a rule using the Reign Plate/IrnoThorn/TikiMasher while testing at the Knight Special Quest(my usual place) it seems that the damage is 99% always in decline.Meaning the 4th hit is weaker than the 3rd,the 3rd weaker than the 2nd,and the 2nd weaker than the first,I have seen exceptions to this but they seem to be the exception rather than the rule. With the IronThorn equiped with the rest of the above stated equipment i've seen as low as 20 dmage on one of my hits(probably lower but DEFINATLY 20,I saw it and remember),so using the basic math(im horrible at it)that means I would have hit for 10 damage without the IronThorn wich I can't say for certain that I recall doing at all with the same equipment, but a different sheild.Only thing I can think of so far is maybe only the first hit is 2x,and the other maybe step down to a different damage bonus,or maybe i'm really unlucky and confused(totally a possiblity),or maybe as we have been surmizing, something isn't quite right.

Well, they'll fix it. It's supposed to double the TOTAL damage output done with melee and ranged.

I'm thinking about using tomorrow to do a comparison. Finding a quest with fixed monster spawns and running through, say, 50 fights with IronThorn and 50 with just Nightmare Shield, and averaging my total damage output to see if it really doubles with IT equipped.
Anyone suggest any quests? They have to have fixed monster spawns, meaning the same monsters every time, and I'd prefer a minimum of dialogue/clicking.
