sorry it's so long. I have a week of exams at school and I get a day off right afterwards, so revision is taking up most of my time. I'm supposed to be revising now, actually. My dad doesn't know I'm typing this.

When Light and Darkness meet as one, thy power's bonds shall be undone.
A prophecy important to the story.

Not as such.
Chapter 14: Evacuation
As Jon's body hit the ground, Sam fell to his knees. It shattered instantly, as if it had been made of glass. There was nothing they could do now. Order was too strong to fight, even if Fire and Earth had been there too. They had to withdraw.
:RETREAT NOW!! There's no way we can win! Everyone get out of here!
As the army began to flee, Order grinned sadistically. This was exactly what he had planned. Chaos was dead and Water and Wind were on the run. Earth and Fire had never been expected to succeed in Corios; He had known all along they would fail. Sending them away was simply supposed to have drawn Chaos into a full offensive. He hadn't stood a chance. If he'd had any more training or power, he would have been capable of victory. What a waste. You would have made such a perfect minion...
It took over an hour for everyone to return to the Citadel, but Sam already knew it was unsafe to stay there. Order would have drained Xenos' memories from Jon and now knew its exact location. The knowledge that Jon hadn't known where Magnetia and Atlantia were was all comforted him. Order wouldn't find those realms, they were too far out of his reach without the Atlas. He wouldn't be able to open it even if he found it. Tyler appeared behind him and he turned. "I've been thinking... I don't think Order actually killed him." "Impossible. We saw his body. We saw what Order did to him. He's not coming back." "Maybe so, but I didn't feel any energy at all from his body. Order might have drained Xenos' energy, but every human body contains a large number of bacteria and I didn't feel any life from that at all. That was just an empty shell. He may not be anywhere we can reach, but he's definitely somewhere." Sam frowned. Was it possible? Almost certainly. Chaos magic was limited only by the imagination, and Jon had one of the most overactive imaginations he'd ever known. "We still need to get everyone out of here. If he was in Allandria he'd have come back by now, so he's not here to protect everyone. We can't hide the entire population of the Citadel. Most of them can't swim well enough to reach my city, and yours is nearly inaccessible to most people." "I have an idea." They both span round, drawing weapons. Elbern stood behind them, his face grim. "We cannot hide them in your realms, but I know of a place which Xenos and Jon did not. It was created as a place of refuge for those forced to flee during the First War. We can hide there for a while." Sam thought it over for a moment. "Where is it?" "About an hour's journey south of the Temple you arrived here through. I want to go there first, though. I need to check something."
The preparations to leave took almost half a day. Eventually everything was ready: the Kinala had been burdened (at their own request) with the heavier items; weapons and armor, mostly, although two of them pulled wagons full of food. Horses everywhere were loaded with various things and citizens were donning their own packs. Tyler surveyed the scene from a mountaintop, then levitated down to the ground. "Everyone's here. Are we ready to go?" "Yeah." :We're leaving now.
A short time later (surprisingly so, as the huge crowd was eager to escape the now-ominous walls of the Citadel) they arrived at the Temple. Elbern nodded to Sam and Tyler, then rushed into the structure. Only one part of it was still intact. Presumably Earth had collapsed the rest when testing his control of stone. It took a few minutes for him to return, but his face was beaming once he did. In his hand was a large purple stone with a symbol carved into it. "I told you I needed to check something. This is the Chaos Amethyst, the gem used as Chaos's contribution to the Seal. Lord Xenos sealed his soul into it... and it was never removed."
It took a few moments for the meaning of this to sink in.
"WHAT?!" Tyler swore quietly. "But... that means..." "Exactly. Lord Xenos only lent his Magic to your friend. He himself is still alive." A shimmering outline formed above the crystal, then the image sharpened. The entire population of the Citadel fell silent. "It's good to be back."
Sam smiled. "That's one piece of good news, at least. I don't suppose there was anything else in there?" "No, sadly not." Suddenly, a glowing circle appeared about twenty metres in the air. A figure fell out of it, wailing loudly. Tyler muttered something and the being slowed, then landed gently in front of them. "Whew, thanks. I though I was done for when they dropped me through that portal." He straightened up and Tyler gasped. "You!" "Yeah, me. I had to come back sometime and this seemed as good a time as any." Earth smiled and brushed some dirt off his robes. Sam blinked. "Well, that makes three of us. I don't suppose you've seen Fire or Chaos?" "Fire is... I think they were sending him back to his realm directly. As for Chaos, I thought he was with you?" Tyler filled him in on recent events and his face fell. "Oh. Well, I heard something about him when I was in Corios, but I think they were talking about what to do with me." Sam groaned. "I suppose we'd better get moving, then." "Wait." Earth turned to Xenos. "Sir, am I right to assume you're the original Chaos Elemental?" "Yes. I am. What of it?" "I think I can help with your ethereality problem. Would you prefer being solid to being a ghost?" "Of course, if you think you can do it. I'm interested to see how strong your student is, Georra." A voice echoed out of nowhere. :Strong enough, Xenos.
Earth drew power from the Temple (the collapsed part melted away as he did so) and released the spell. "Yfidiloseh tlatn em ele." A sphere of rock coalesced around Xenos. A yell of surprise came from inside, then exploded upwards. A black-armored figure dropped to the floor with a thud. "I never thought this would happen again. Thank you, old friend." The voice came again. :Don't worry about it. Let's get moving.
The First Lord of Chaos grinned savagely. "Everyone follow Elbern. I don't know the way for once." The now-increased party continued southwards. Their odds of winning had just increased.
