Chapter 30: On Faith, Proof and the HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy
As I strummed the final chord, Solís grinned at me. "I never thought I'd say this, you being my sworn enemy and all, but that wasn't bad." "I know, I played it." Xenos stared upwards, then muttered something under his breath. "You what?" "We have about two minutes Allandrian time. Zero, Infinity, you're still here, right?" The two Seraphim lords stepped forwards, nodding in unison. "Return to Corios. This is no longer your fight. Take Dis Manibus if you so wish, but do not attempt to bring reinforcements. They would probably not survive." Zero grimaced, then spoke. "While I do not feel comfortable with running away, I appreciate we have no real choice. Jon, listen to me. The spell you cast together was powerful, but I feel you may be able to equal it alone. Test your limits, and don't restrain yourself if it seems all is lost. Good luck." I blinked and they were gone, their mechs following an instant later. "Eleven elemental mages against one death god. Do we even stand a chance?" "Of course." I span, my guitar morphing into an axe as I did so. A white-armored figure stood there, and behind him three others. "We finished the spell, Xenos. I see why you missed being physical for so long. Should we revert Solís as well?" "We need his help too." "Then help we shall. Georra!" I suddenly realised that these others were the four original Elementals. The white-armored one was Boreas, the Wind elemental. Solís glowed briefly, then fell over as gravity finally took effect. "Much better. Thank you."
He reached towards an unusually bright shaft of sunlight and pulled, removing a pure white spear with an intricately-decorated head. "Ah, I've missed this. Fighting is no fun without the physical aspect." "Says the guy who kept trying to petrify me into submission." "Let's not go into that. How long now?" "About ten seconds." I glanced up and immediately morphed my axe back into its guitar form, then slammed my hand across the strings. A massive discord filled the air, directed at the incoming meteor. Xenos raised a shield as the rock shattered, flinging debris across the valley and forming craters almost big enough to fit a house into. Tom nodded appreciatively. "Good one. Not enough fire, but still a good bang." "So where's the boss?" "Boss? This isn't a game, Sam." "Says who?" "That's enough Matrix theories. In all seriousness we should probably look for it."
A yell came from nowhere. "WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?" A flash of light. I instinctively leapt sideways as a green blade planted itself in the floor where I had been standing. "Good dodge, Chaos. Unfortunately it will be your last." The being stood, then punched me in the stomach. It winded me even with my armor, flinging me back against a rock. "Ow. Mind if I take a moment to explain why that's not possible?" "By all means. You won't have another chance." "Well, since the Bible states that proof denies faith, and without faith a god is nothing, you do not exist if I can prove you do. Since you have just wounded me, you obviously exist and therefore do not."
A quiet chuckle. "Nice try, Chaos, but you can't kill me so easily. This will be a battle to the death... and when you lose, your soul will be mine."

rather entertaining. an intillectual like myself got confused with your bible existance stuff. plus chaos i solved the paradox in your signature. if neither is realy there it does not matter weather either of them is true or false.
