Let's gather up the names of the spells used in Harry Potter series and their effects!
Wingardium Leviosa - levitation
Obliviate - Makes the foe loses his memories
Expeliarmus - disarms opponent
Stupefy - Stun
Alohomora - Open the door
Lumos - light
Expecto Patronum - summons patronus
Crucio/Cruciatus - Torturing curse
Impedimenta - knocks enemy back
Sectumsempra=cuts with invisible blade.
Avada Kedavra=kill
Protego=counter
Levicorpus=hang opponent
Petrificus Totalus=full body petrification
Legilimens=read mind
Diffindo=severing spell
Descendo=pull something down
Silencio=STFU

What are your favorites,though?
I like Duro and Reducio, they sound like more intresting and usable than AK yet still dangerous.Flagrante is a nice one, too, altough it won't (hopefully) kill.Gemini....heh.That's something to use on a opponent's wand, though.Actually, Flagrante seems more fun in this case, as opponent can't cast a spell to remove it.Also, turning somenone's clotches into a portkey is intresting way to go.
About the book, altough it first took the ending I expected(death of antagonist and protagonist), it later twisted.Altough Voldy could have dodged or blocked the Expelliarmus, IMO.
