I'm quite sure, actually, that Huntress lied.That's because of the cutscene on Isle'd Oriens, and cutscene in Guardian Tower, and cutscene in the current war......Read carefully.

on Isle d'Oriens I think she abandoned her father not to join devourer, but to track him and find out of his plans etc. But time will tell

the Gauntlet's special isn't weak. I've hit over 50 with that. and it can hurt anything short of Void Dragon...

well, nightbane is epheel's ally(remember nightbane saga?), and epheel is with devourer so...

or something like that.
now, what do you think the "events" are, and therefore why do you think Nightbane is with Epheel?
