Hello ,

How old where you when you made UAQ?
The ripe old age of 21, I believe.

What was it like to own a great site?
It was great! I was completely amazed at how well people responded to my idea of the ULTIMATE AQ information site.

What inspired you to create it and any goals you wanted to achieve by it?
My inspiration was very simple: when I first started playing AQ I looked for a fansite that had basic information about the game like item and monster stats. There were a couple at the time, but they all seemed to be outdated and the AQ encyclopedia didn't exist at the time. I decided then that I was going to create the biggest, best, most complete data source for Adventure Quest that had ever existed!!
So I set up a webserver on my home computer and built the original UAQ on it. I posted about my site in the AQ forums. It was actually called ultimateaq.cjb.net at the time. There was an immediate and huge response from the player community. So after a couple of months I decided to buy a domain name and ULTIMATEAQ.COM was born!! I spent HOURS of time and THOUSANDS, nigh MILLIONS!! in gold to buy all of the armor and weapons and pets and shields that I could so I could type up their stats and take their pictures, only to turn right around and sell them back to the shop never to be used again. I fought battle after battle after battle, recording the stats of every monster I could find and taking their pictures as well. Eventually I plead to the player community,"All you noble citizens of Battleon, come! Help me! Give me your knowledge and your experiences! Tell me of the monsters you have fiercely battled and the treasures you have won from your hard fought victories!" And the players came and told me their stories. They shared with me the information they had gathered during their quests for fame and fortune. And UAQ became everything I ever wanted it to be: THE ultimate site for everything there was to know about Adventure Quest. And with the help of the UAQ Uber Pioneers like Dark Forest, we spread the word of UAQ to the far corners of the earth, and all were enlightened by the information herein contained.
Why did you leave?

Mostly I just got bored. Not with UAQ, mind you. With Adventure Quest itself. Eventually we gathered all the information there was to gather. I would sit on the edge of my seat for new content to come. And eventually it would sloooooowly trickle in. A few more monsters, more weapons, more shields, but never really anything NEW. No new KINDS of equipment. No new interfaces. No player-to-player interaction. All I could do was fight. And fight some more. And fight some more after that.
I had expected AQ to evolve from the game it was into something that was more MMORPG-like where players could interact with each other and really go places and do things. But it never really did. My interest in the game waned. I didn't play as much so it became hard for me to keep up with what was going on in the game. Eventually, I quit playing all together and fell completely out of the loop. Fortunately, DF stuck it out with me from the beginning and I was able to hand the site over to him for safe keeping.

More importantly (yay) Why did you come back?
I got bored!
Every once in a while I would check out the site's stats to see if people still came to the site and used it. I'ld also peek into the forum to see you guys were talking bad about me behind my back But all the posts I saw with my name in them talked about how much people missed me and wanted me to come back and how great I was for making UAQ and stuff. This really got me because during the period before I left people were actually complaining heavily about UAQ and how the data wasn't correct (which was because AQ staff kept changing stats and stuff and wouldn't tell anyone about it). Anyway, I guess I came back in part because people actually WANTED me to.

How do you feel about being made ex-staff?
Well, up until now I suppose it made sense. I WAS staff and then I WASN'T staff, so that made me EX-staff. I thought it was appropriate

Do you like swords?
Hellz yeah! I love swords. But what I love even more than swords is ARMOR!! In fact, I plan to move to Texas an a year so I can make armor professionally. Last fall I spent four months apprenticing under a professional reproduction armorer. It was hard work, but TONS of fun!

Do you think Suiko and DF are taking care of the site well enough?
I think they're doing a GREAT job! I'm extremely pleased that these guys and others have taken it upon themselves to keep UltimateAQ the ULTIMATE AQ info site!

Q) Do you think it's wrong for Galanoth and Rhubarb to make things worse for AQ? Because it's ruining the game.
Let me start by saying that I haven't really played AQ in a LONG time. I've popped into the game to kinda browse about and fight a random battle or two, but I've never played long enough to figure out what's really going on in the game. What I do know, however, is that it really is the same exact game I started playing years ago. Let me stress that - it's the same exact game I started playing years ago. They've added more gear and more monsters and more places to go, but that's about it.
I think to say that they are making things worse for AQ may be inacurate. I just think that they're not making things any better. Of course, it may have been their intent to create a game that is exactly like AQ has become. And if that's the truth of it then I think we shouldn't complain about it too much. They have done other things like DragonFable that may have completely different goals in mind.
So I guess to answer your question, if Adventure Quest is today exactly as Galanoth and The Captain had envisioned it to be, then they have succeeded in their goal. If they envisioned a game that Black Seraphim Zero would love and praise them for, then they have failed miserably

Q) What is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to you?
Getting engaged and then married.

Q) If you were the creator of AQ, what changes would you make to it (including things like chat, interaction, etc)?
The biggest thing I would change would be to allow players to interact with each other. IN my opinion, AQ's biggest downfall is that it's a SPORPG instead of a MMORPG. Aside from that I would love them to work in a crafting system, because I'm a nut for crafting

Q) What level are you in DragonFable? If you play, my lord.
I really haven't played. Sorry.

P.S. I looooooove the My Lord part. You REALLY have to get everyone else on the forum to call me that!

Q) What are your hobbies? (Skateboarding, gaming, etc.)
Making and fighting in armor mostly. I also like to play computer games (currently playing the Special Edition of Dungeon Lords). In my spare time at work I like to write small web-based applications using PHP and MYSQL.

Q) What do you think of Pie?
I think pie is overrated. Cake is waaaay better than pie. Especially cheesecake... and ice cream.

A)I really don't have time to mod boards and stuff. I figured I could just get interviewed and be loved and adored by all of you. Y'know, shine a bit of my glory around so you guys can all bask in it and that sort of thing

I might also do some coding for the site if I'm asked.

Q) How many armour suits have you made?
I've only made one kinda full suit. I've made many helmets and a little bit of other misc armor, too. My current project is a suit based on a 15th century ottoman mail and plate suit.

Q) Are you PERMANENTLY back?
What's your definition of permanent? Technically, I was never really permanently gone since I would pop back into the forum, once in a while.
If you're asking whether or not I'll be contributing to the site, then the answer is "I don't really know." I'll get fired for playing AQ at work, but they don't mind if I work on code for webpages and stuff, so while I can't really contribute data, I could help out with coding. I don't really have time to mod so that's kinda out for me. Since I don't really play much anymore, I can't really answer any questions either. So I'm pretty much limited to doing code and being all of your <ebil overlord voice>LORD AND MASTER</overlord voice> >

Q) What games do you play NOW?
Well, I'm currently only playing Dungeon Lords SE. I just finished beating Dirge of Cerberus for PS2 a few weeks ago, and before that I beat God of War for PS2.

WHAT IS THE SQUARE ROUTE OF A PIECE OF PIE!?!?!
Well, lets break it down...

pie = (crust+filling)yumminess

If you figure that:

yumminess=(baker's skill+baker's experience)/brand of oven

and:

baker's skill=# of succesfully made pies/baker's experience

and:

baker's experience = # of years baking/baker's age

then the formula for pie is:

pie=(crust+filling)(((# of succesfully made pies/(# of years baking/baker's age))+(# of years baking/baker's age))/brand of oven)

Now to find the value for pie for me you would plug in the following:

pie=(graham cracker+apple)(((0/(0/23))+(0/23))/unknown)

which gives you:

pie=(graham cracker+apple)(0)

and since anything times 0 is 0:

pie=0

and the square root of 0 is obviously 0. Sooooo the square root of one of my pies is 0.

I just wear it when I fight. Armor is heavy and gets very hot in the sun. Not to mention that it would probably wreak havoc on my office chair

Ummm... my favorite bands are probably Blind Guardian, Ayreon, Iron Maiden, Pink FLoyd, Led Zeppelin, old Metallica, Megadeth, Demons and Wizards, and a whole lot more that I just can't think of off the top of my head. My very favorite stuff is Blind Guardian:)

Q) Have you suffered any major accidents?
Totalled my parents' van when I was like 15. Didn't really get hurt though. Other than that, nope.

Q) What online games do you play, if/when you have the time?
I used to play Ultima Online before it got completely stupid. Nothing else really.
